Did I tell you about the first time I saw myself on a poster for the National Portrait Gallery?... It was this summer, they'd used Jonny Yeo's painting of me for the poster, and I happened to be on the tube when I noticed that someone had added a beard to my face with felt-tip pen, as well as more obscene additions. I'd been thinking "Hurrah, the National Portrait Gallery, I've arrived at last!" But then there was that helpful moment when I was sent crashing back to reality, which is a good place to be ...
