BP Portrait Award 2005
Scottish National Portrait Gallery
The BP Portrait Award, established in 1980, is recognised as the leading UK showcase for young artists working in portraiture today. Many of the young artists who have had their work included in the BP Portrait Award go on to pursue highly successful and creative careers as portrait painters. The entire competition is judged from original paintings and on average around 50 to 60 winning entries are exhibited at the annual show. The work resulting from the 2004 BP Travel Award will be shown as part of the 2005 exhibition. The BP Portrait Award is organised by the National Portrait Gallery, London.
